## What is theguests.app?

theguests.app is a guestlist and QR check-in app for clubs, promoters, festivals and event teams. Organizers manage guestlists; guests can register through an invite link and receive a QR code by email; door crew scan tickets and see a live admission count.

The app runs in a browser on phones and tablets, including iOS and Android. Standard scanning needs an internet connection and does not require installation or special scanner hardware.

## From guestlist to door

Create an event with a capacity, add guests manually or import Excel/CSV, and use personal QR invitations. A public registration link can have a guest cap and expiry. At the door, crew scan codes and the live counter shows admissions and remaining capacity.

The product supports VIP guests and plus-ones, CSV export, owner, manager and crew roles, an optional per-event waitlist, and undo of a crew member's own check-in within five minutes.

## Current pricing and limits

As reviewed on 3 October 2026, the platform is free for now at $0 per month, with no credit card and no trial time limit. The current plan lists unlimited events, guests and crew accounts. Individual event capacity still applies. The team says it will give advance notice before introducing paid plans; this is not a promise of permanently free service.

## Internet and offline operation

Normal check-in requires a connection and can use multiple phones or tablets. Emergency offline check-in is not enabled by default. For single-device emergency offline requirements, contact the team; do not plan on multiple offline stations or assume offline mode is active for your event.

Gina is an in-app customer-care chat that answers questions and guides users to the right screen in English, Czech, German, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic. Gina cannot add guests or check people in for you.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it really free?

Yes, completely for now. No credit card, no trial limit. We'll give plenty of notice before adding paid plans.

### Does it work offline at the door?

Scanning needs a connection and works on any number of devices. Emergency offline mode for a single device is available on request.

### Can I invite guests via link?

Yes. Generate a public invite link with a guest cap and expiry. Guests sign themselves up and get a QR.

### What does the crew need at the entrance?

A phone or tablet with a camera. Works on iOS and Android, no install.

### What happens to guest data?

Your data is yours. We encrypt connections, isolate workspaces and never sell to third parties.

### Can I leave anytime?

Of course. Export everything as CSV and delete the workspace in one click.

### What is Gina?

Gina is our in-app customer care chat. She answers questions and points you to the right screen, in all six languages. She can't add guests or check anyone in for you.

### What happens when an event is full?

If you turn on the waitlist for an event, guests beyond the capacity join a queue instead of seeing an error. Your crew sees the queue and lets them in as soon as a spot frees up.

### Can I undo a check-in?

Yes. Crew can undo their own scan within five minutes, so an accidental check-in never sticks.
